Mark Leschly


Mark Leschly is the Chairman, CEO and Principal owner of Universal Tennis (​​), a technology company focused on making tennis more affordable, accessible and fun for all players, coaches and organizers around the world by leveraging a single unifying rating – Universal Tennis Rating (UTR).

Mark is a former ATP professional tennis player,previously selected to the Danish Davis Cup team, and former #1 player on Harvard Tennis. He is a member of the USTA Player Development Champions Council and on the board of the USTA Foundation.

For over twenty-five years, Mark has helped entrepreneurs and companies achieve excellent outcomes by providing strategic, operational and financial guidance as a CEO, founder, investor and board member. He has a strong track record building compelling high growth businesses, specializing technology (digital media, e-commerce and mobile sectors), sports, media and entertainment.

He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Iconica Partners, principal firm investing in sports, media and technology; and the Managing Partner and owner of Rho Capital Partners, a venture capital and growth equity firm with over $2.5B of assets under management. Prior to that, Mark served as a General Partner at Healthcare Ventures, a leading life sciences venture capital firm; and a strategic management consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Mark is an owner in Professional Fighters League (PFL), a mixed martial arts league; the Los Angeles Football Club, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team; Team Liquid, a professional esports team; and the Oklahoma City Dodgers, a AAA Minor League baseball team.

Mark received an M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and a B.A. with honors from Harvard University. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and four children.
